Alexandra Augusta Pereira Klen is Mechanical Engineer and PhD in Manufacturing Automation (1996, UFSC - Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil). She has worked (1991-1994) at the Bremen Institute of Production and Logistics (BIBA), Germany, as guest scientist and carried out Post Doctoral stays at UFSC, Brazil (2022, “Management of ‘Social Responsibility and Intelligence’ under the ESG perspective”), at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain (2007, “Collaborative Networks”), and at BIBA, Germany (1997, “Human-Centered Design (HCD) to the Introduction of Task-Appropriate Computer Support on the Shop Floor”).
She is co-founder and coordinator of GSIGMA (Intelligent Manufacturing Systems Group, 1996) and NIIDE-U (Interdisciplinary Nucleus of Innovation in Universal Design, 2013) at UFSC. She has participated in several national and international R&D&I projects (supported by Brazilian, German and European funding Programmes) and has written articles for publication on a number of conference proceedings, journals, book chapters and technical reports.
She also works as independent consultant mainly in Latin America and Europe. Her areas of interest include innovation management, collaborative networks, strategic management, ICTs and ESG. Since 1996 she has served the European Commission as evaluator, reviewer and rapporteur (including the Executive Agency for SMEs, evaluating more than 250 innovation project proposals) as well as broker for the @LIS Programme (Alliance for the Information Society). From 2009 to 2011 she was in charge of the Innovation and Marketing areas of Axia Value Chain (consulting firm, São Paulo-Brazil, acquired by Ernst & Young in 2012).
Alexandra is dancer and choreographer. She is directly involved in ideation, conception, execution, production and management of various cultural education projects. She is creative-interpreter, general manager and artistic director of the works conceived by and with ‘Dois Pontos DanceTheater Company’, of which she is co-founder. She has performed several tours in Brazil and abroad; actually (2022-2024) she is representative of the Dance sector in the Municipal Council of Cultural Policies of Florianópolis.
