Twelve's technology, the Opus System, mimics industrial photosynthesis by turning CO2, water and renewable energy into hydrocarbons, which are the building blocks for various materials and fuels. Twelve was formerly known as Opus 12. It was founded in 2015 and is based in Berkeley, California.
