The company is combining two key technologies, compact spherical tokamaks and the latest generation of high-temperature superconductors (HTS) to develop compact modular fusion power plants. The company is working close to the mainstream of government-funded magnetic fusion research and benefits from a huge wealth of device-specific knowledge of tokamaks while innovating rapidly. Tokamak Energy demonstrated a world-first tokamak with all magnets made from HTS in 2014.
