Everything around you is made from chemicals — from shampoo to iPhones, q-tips to automobiles. The chemical industry touches nearly every aspect of daily life. And yet, for decades, it has remained one of the last major industries stuck offline. The core issue has never changed: disorganized, dirty data that slows operations and stalls innovation.
In 2017, co-founders Ali Amin-Javaheri, Wojciech Krupa and Janakiraman Swamy, Ph.D., set out to solve this problem. They recognized that data is the key to unlocking every initiative and, ultimately, to driving true transformation. That vision became Knowde — now the leading vertical AI company for the chemical industry.
For Knowde CEO Amin-Javaheri, the mission is deeply personal. Inspired by his father, a chemical engineer from Iran, he grew up dissecting the products around him. “I would look at an automobile and break it down in my head — rubber, metal coatings, plastics — and think about the chemistry behind each one. It became a bit of an obsession,” he recalls.
Today, Knowde AI automatically harmonizes chemical and ingredient data, transforming it into a clean, structured data foundation. This data layer powers every initiative that follows — AI, ERP, CRM, eCommerce and beyond. On top of it, Knowde has built applications like Knowde CXP and the Knowde Marketplace, helping the industry finally operate at digital speed.
