International AIDS Vaccine Initiative

A global not-for-profit organization working to ensure the development of safe, effective, accessible, preventive HIV vaccines for use throughout the world. It has developed and tested six candidate vaccines over past 11 years and conducted 15 vaccine trials in 11 countries, formed research consortia to improve vaccine development and mobilized approximately US$ 750 million in new funding for AIDS vaccine research and development. It will continue to implement an innovative research and development programme pursuing research avenues that have not been fully exploited.
