BitaGreen develops software and maps that identify how urban Green Infrastructure (GI) helps to reduce flooding and increase the quality of life. We deliver value by screening the most suitable locations combined with cost-benefit assessments to consider the Environmental Service (ES) benefits of green infrastructure (e.g. UHI reduction, noise reduction, carbon sequestration, biodiversity, air quality, flood adaptation, etc). BitaGreen creates a - Multi-objective, multi-scalar decision support tool for allocation of urban GI based on integrated assessment and valuation’ that will: - Show the impact of GI on urban hydrology (reducing hydrological risk and increasing resilience); - Value and asses the co-benefits for the public and private sectors; - Support decision-makers at different levels to design sustainable urban development plans; - Raise awareness on the impact of retrofitting assets and properties with GI; We provide an operational tool to manage urban flooding and water security while complying with numerous (inter-)national policies targeting climate change adaptation and sustainable development.
